Tenders are invited for Submarine Cables Global Study

The objective of the study is to provide IFC with a better understanding of the submarine cable sector and identify suitable investment opportunities. To this end, the study will be divided in three broad areas: (i) a market and technical assessment, (ii) a regulatory and structuring assessment, and (iii) the mapping of potential investment opportunities for IFC and development of an investability tool to assess such opportunities.

Upon completion of the study, IFC will have a comprehensive understanding of business models, and gain access to information about market dynamics, trends, and key players and their respective strategies. IFC will also have a comprehensive understanding of structuring options and gain knowledge of the key regulatory prerequisites needed for the deployment of submarine cable projects, including a focus on specific target regions. This information will underpin IFC-s prioritization and decision making and support IFC in advancing its investment and pre-investment project pipeline.
