There are a large number of business clusters in the Province of Antwerp. The cities and municipalities note that the full roof potential is not always used for photovoltaic solar panels and that few steps are being taken to share surplus solar power through energy.sharing and communities. To achieve the climate objectives, investments must also be made here. To date, photovoltaic solar panels (PV) have been installed based on underlying consumption, meaning that a large roof potential is not being utilized. For municipalities it means maximumMaximizing the solar potential in these clusters makes a major contribution to the climate objectives and the objectives they have agreed to in the Local Energy and Climate Plan (LEKP) and in a Covenant of Mayors. This also became clear in the Space and Energy study by the Province of Antwerpen, where the province was classified into Energy Landscapes with similar spatial and energetic challenges. In these Energy Landscapes, various sustainable energy building blocks are weighed against each other and against possible alternatives. Together they form the puzzle of the futurefuture renewable energy system. In the context of sustainable use of space, it is important to use the roofs as much as possible for PV. Detecting and initiating energetic synergies between companies is not part of their core business. That is why the municipalities want to work in collaboration with the provincethe entities that fall under the purchasing center for this assignment (including POM Antwerp) are working to accelerate renewable energy. Through this framework contract for study work, we offer cities and municipalities the opportunity to relieve their business clusters and create more PV here.realized and to share the locally generated renewable energy. This can possibly be done in the form of energy communities, so that PV can be used as efficiently as possible within business clusters.
