The Department of the Environment announces a tender for the preparation of a study of the quantitative and qualitative composition of municipal waste in the provinces of Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Famagusta and Paphos. The purpose of the study is to collect data by sampling of mixed waste and collecting data for wastewater collected separately, and concerns a 12 -month period. The sampling will be done from various parts of Cyprus so that the sample is representative of the total waste composition and the results can be released on a Cyprus level. These data are crucial to the formulation of waste management, updating of the Municipal Waste Management Plan and for the fulfillment of Cyprus's obligations to the European Union.
