Project OverviewThe project aims to undertake remediation, and protection works of the masts and supporting beams at Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre (MSAC). Current StateIn May 2024 Aurecon Australia Pty Ltd were commissioned to undertake a visual condition inspection of the primary structural elements at Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre (MSAC). Aurecon advised we undertake a closer inspection of the Structural Masts and Supporting Beams. Avian Australia was then engaged to undertake structural condition assessments of the Structural Masts and Supporting Beams. The report generated from the condition assessments have outlined defects in the steelwork that require remediation works.The Structural Masts and Beams are:Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre (MSAC) has 9x Structural Masts located at multiple positions across the roofs of the venue.These masts are numbered from 1 – 9. See attachments for reference• Mast 1 is located above the Show Court (Stadium 1)• Masts 2 & 3 are located above Sports Courts (Stadium 2, 3, 4 & 5)• Masts 4 & 5 are located above the Indoor Competition Pool• Masts 6 – 9 are located above the Outdoor Competition Pool
