Cervical cancer remains a significant public health concern in Lao PDR, with the human papillomavirus (HPV) identified as its primary cause. To address this, the National Immunization Programme (NIP), with support from the World Health Organization (WHO) Lao PDR, has prioritized the strengthening of HPV vaccination service delivery, particularly focusing on high-risk and hard-to-reach areas. Despite initial efforts, challenges remain in reaching out-of-school girls, improving microplanning, ensuring timely vaccine distribution, and fully integrating HPV vaccination into routine immunization and maternal and child health (MCH) activities.
