Industry Feedback on Software as a Service Common Terms1.0IntroductionThe Department of the Air Force (DAF) is a significant consumer of IT products and services to fulfill its mission. Innovations in Software as a Service (SaaS) present opportunity for the DAF to expedite the deployment of capabilities. To enhance our communication with industry regarding SaaS needs, the DAF is seeking input from industry on a standardized set of SaaS terminology. The intent is that these terms serve as a foundation for future market research requests, contracts, service catalogs, service level agreements and other communications both with industry and within the DAF. The goal is to utilize consistent and up-to-date terminology to help reduce ambiguity and confusion, thereby accelerating our ability to address requirements effectively.
