Notice of intent to direct awardissued: 07-16-2018file # phsa 00347noi title: specimen gate software maintenanceprovincial health services authoritynotice is hereby given by that the provincial health services authority, intends to directly award a contract to the following supplier to provide software support for specimen gate software, a newborn screening program to bc children s and women s hospital for a term of april 1st through march31st, 2019 and at an estimated value of $126, 680 annually perkin elmer health services, inc. 940 winter streetwaltham, ma02451, usain accordance with applicable trade agreements the provincial health services authority on behalf of bc children s and women s hospital has chosen not to proceed with a competitive process for the following:. The goods or services can be supplied only by the selected supplier and no alternative or substitute exists for the following reason:to ensure compatibility with existing products/systems rationalechildren s and women s health centre of bc is currently using specimen gate software. The newborn screening program is a provincial program, and no other lab in the province does this type of testing in bc. There is no other vendor to provide software and support for this application. Perkin elmer is the only vendor able to provide support as its proprietary software. Vendors who wish to challenge this decision should submit a detailed written objection to the attention of diane lindsay, buyer, by email to diane.lindsay@phsa.ca before 2:00pm pacific time, july 23rd, 2018.
