The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), Acquisition & Property Operations, announces its intention to award a firm fixed price sole source contract through the Abernathy Fish Technology Center. USFWS requires Qiagen proprietary products that are critical to the Pacific Region Fisheries and Aquatic Conservation Program and the Abernathy Fish Technology Center (AFTC). Qiagen manufactures specialized, patented consumables and reagents essential for USFWS genetic analysis workflows. These items are only available directly from Qiagen, as the company does not distribute through resellers. Prior attempts to substitute other suppliers have resulted in unreliable and inconsistent results that fail to meet mission requirements.The required supplies support multiple genetic research projects and mission critical responsibilities under USFWS recovery plans.
