Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation, Water Infrastructure and Operations Branch (WIOB), Southern Region is responsible for the operation and maintenance of provincially owned water management infrastructure, which includes dams, reservoirs, canals, and related flow control structures. The majority ofthe infrastructure was constructed in the 1950s and 1960s, but also includes newer structures, components and systems that have been recently upgraded. The infrastructure operated by WIOB provides water supply and security for agricultural, municipal, commercial and individual uses. This infrastructureincludes flow control components, such as large flow control and guard valves, as well as large radial and overshot gates that require electrical and mechanical systems to operate. These systems require regular inspection, maintenance and lifecycle planning. AGI is looking to procure the services ofa qualified contractor to provide inspection, maintenance, and recommendation for electrical and mechanical services on electric components located throughout infrastructure operated by WIOB. The qualified contractor will be responsible for complete repair and replacement services on a variety ofelectrical and mechanical components related to large valves, gates, hoists, actuators, and other electrical and mechanical devices used in water managementinfrastructure.
