The letter of intent expresses the mutual will of the parties to move the project forward without binding legal conditions. Significant strategic development projects are underway in the municipality of Sodankylä, such as the planning of new mines and the defense forces and strengthening the presence of international actors. As a result of these, significant population growth and an increase in housing demand are expected in the locality. The goal of the project according to the letter of intent is to create a permanent housing stock that meets the municipality's needs in support of long-term development. The project contributes to securing the supply of housing for employees, families and new residents, and strengthens the attractiveness of the area from the perspective of housing and business activities. At the same time, it supports the local economy and tax base. Municipal the task is to reserve a sufficient number of plots suitable for the project and ready in terms of municipal technology. Further development takes place in accordance with the valid planning and construction regulations. Sodankylä municipality acquires an authorized real estate appraiser services, regarding the determination of the value of properties in the central area of Sodankylä.
