Description: The SME Ventures Program ("SMEV" or “the Program”) is an integral component of the International Finance Corporation's (“IFC”) private equity funds department ("CDFPE"). It is dedicated to investing in private equity funds that target small and medium-sized enterprises (“SMEs”) in Low Income IDA, Fragile and Conflict Affected States ("IDA-FCS"), and other frontier markets. With investments in 26 funds across over 30 countries, SMEV has established a significant global footprint.

The IFC is seeking a consultant to author a flagship report on SMEV. This publication will highlight the Program-s effectiveness over the past 15 years through a qualitative analysis of data collected, share key lessons learned, and present case studies on the funds and their portfolio companies that demonstrate the Program's impact on SMEs development in frontier markets. The report will serve as a valuable resource for fund managers, Development Finance Institutions (“DFIs”), and SMEs, and will reinforce IFC's thought leadership in the sector.

The consultant will synthesize analysis of existing and new quantitative data and qualitative insights to be collected to elucidate the SMEV's contribution to both SME and private equity (“PE”) ecosystem development in frontier markets. The report will also offer strategic insights, best practices, and future enhancements to the Program.
