The SME Ventures Program ("SMEV") is a part of the International Finance Corporation's (“IFC”) private equity funds department ("CDSPE"). It focuses on investing in private equity funds that specifically target small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Low Income IDA, Fragile and Conflict Affected States ("IDA-FCS") as well as other frontier markets. As part of its support to fund managers, SMEV offers a comprehensive capacity building program. This program is designed to outline and reinforce the fundamental skills, knowledge, and tools that fund managers should develop right from the inception of their funds and apply throughout the investment period.Recognizing the significance of leadership in the success of fund managers, the executive coaching project seeks to develop and enhance the leadership and talent development capabilities of the SMEV fund managers. The main objective of the executive coaching program for senior and middle level leadership of fund managers that SMEV has invested is to enhance their leadership competencies, talent-building abilities, and investment success.The project will be conducted over a two-year period, targeting up to 50 professionals in a maximum of 13 funds. The project will include the development of an evaluation framework, individual assessments, coaching sessions, and measurement of improvement. If the services are satisfactory, the project may be extended until 2029, expanding its reach and impact.
