Tender Details

1. Sizewell C needs a sea water reverse osmosis desalination plant during the construction and initial production phase of the Sizewell C nuclear facility in Suffolk.
2. IDE Technologies and DC Dwek Corporate Finance partnered for the desalination project. IDE is one of the leading desalination and water treatment companies in the world and has a strong
international track record of desalination plant delivery.
3. The maximum capacity of drinking water required is 5, 000 m3 per day with a maximum intake of 13, 300 m3/day for a 15-year period. The plant needs to be constructed to a 25-year life.
4. All the desalination equipment will be supplied from Europe and assembled onsite. 1st and 2nd pass membrane skids with all the key desalination equipment will include:
a. Extensive pumping requirements and redundancy including high pressure pumps, dosing pumps, backwash pumps, limestone feed pumps, potable water and transfer pumps.
b. Pressure vessels and reverse osmosis membranes.
c Detailed pre and post treatment requirements including de-gritting, flocculation, dual membrane filters, limestone etc.
5. We will require UK based Civil and Mechanical & Electrical contractors to prepare the site and to connect the skids to the electric control rooms and to the necessary pipework.
