In accordance with the federal aviation administration (faa) acquisition management system (ams) policy section 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis for the faa's decision to contract on a single source basis for name-brand -œibm- z14-zr1 mainframe processor.





The faa has a requirement to procure one (1) ibm z14-zr1 mainframe processor required to continue to operate the technical computer data center (tcdc) and cssd systems at the william j. Hughes technical center in atlantic city, new jersey.





Ibm is the only known brand-name capable of meeting the faa-s specific requirement of running zvm and z/os operating systems used specifically with the faa-s tcdc and cssd systems. Accordingly, the faa has identified authorized resellers/distributors and as such will conduct a limited competition specifically for one (1) ibm z14-zr1 mainframe processor, and only among the authorized resellers.





The faa is not seeking or accepting unsolicited proposals. The faa is not liable for any costs associated with the preparing of a response to this announcement.
