this request for proposals (the "rfp") is an invitation by saint mary's university (the "university") on behalf of the department of chemistry to prospective proponents to submit proposal option(s) for the provision of one (1) single crystal x-ray diffractometer.



due to the unknown cost of a dual microsource system and a mixed microsource/sealed tube system with respect to available funding, proponents are asked to submit proposals to include each option below, if offered by the proponent.



option one (1)

one (1) single crystal x-ray diffractometer featuring two (2) x-ray microsources (mo and cu), one (1) low-temperature crystal cooling device, and one (1) uninterruptible power supply, as further described in the rfp particulars (appendix b) (the "deliverables")



option two (2)

one (1) single crystal x-ray diffractometer featuring one (1) x-ray microsource (cu), one sealed tube x-ray source (mo), one (1) low-temperature crystal cooling device, and one (1) uninterruptible power supply, as further described in the rfp particulars (appendix b) (the "deliverables").



either option would be primarily used for single crystal x-ray diffraction experiments, however the ability to run powder x-ray diffraction experiments is essential. it is understood that the ability of single crystal x-ray diffraction systems is limited when compared to a dedicated powder x-ray diffraction system.
