Sigurd Christiansen promenade wall 3 and 4
The project includes rehabilitation of retaining walls, including foundations for wall 3 and wall 4, which are located between Bybroa and 0vre Sund bridge on the Bragernes side of the Drammen river (gnr./bnr. 114/1106). Wall 3 and wall 4 are located on property gnr./bnr. 114/1106. Mur 3 is approx. 100 m long and consists of stone blocks that are dry-walled in three layers. Wall 4 consists of a concrete wall founded on wooden piles. There are clear deformations in the wall, which leans outward towards the river. There have also been marked settlements in the terrain behind the wall. Cracking has also been registered and displacement in some casting joints. The wall is approx. 200 m long and about 1 m high. There are several stormwater lines that are led through or under the wall and out into the Drammenselva. The foundation consists partly of wood/plank and partly of a thin layer of concrete sole. Furthermore, the wall is founded on wooden piles which is assumed to stand on friction. The foundations are in poor condition, which is also visible in that some parts of the wall have deformations and crookedness in the stone blocks. These must be taken care of when rehabilitating the area. The measure also includes stairs for wall 3 and 4.
