This procurement concerns Shoulder and elbow prostheses. The products in this procurement concern joint prostheses that are implanted in the shoulder and elbow joint for the treatment of symptomatic degenerative joint disease where non-operative treatment has been shown to be insufficient. Prosthetic replacement is also used for the treatment of fractures that are deemed untreatable with another method. In the orthopedic clinic in Linköping, both elbow prostheses and shoulder prostheses are implanted. Each year, approximately 131 joint prostheses are implanted in Linköping, of which approximately 25 are in the elbow joint and 106 in shoulder joint. However, the volumes may exceed and fall below the estimated value.
