Description : BACKGROUND
National Strategic Plan for Malaria Elimination 2021-2025 is finalized and endorsed by Ministry of Health prioritizing the intensive prevention and treatment services and introducing innovative approaches in the hot spot townships specially targeting underserved ethnic minorities and marginalized population in conflict and non-government-controlled areas. National Malaria Control Programme (NMCP) would like to start implementing intensification plan and WHO is closely supporting to intensify the intervention targeting the hotspots and forested areas with additional deployment of 12 Township Project Coordinators. Therefore, there is a need to recruit a consultant to provide technical assistance to the National Malaria Control Programme.
PURPOSE AND DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES TO BE CARRIED OUT
The consultant will provide technical support for intensification of malaria control or elimination in hot spot townships and forest goers in Myanmar in close consultation with National Malaria Control Programme (NMCP), WHO Country Office and WHO Mekong Malaria Elimination Programme-hosted by WHO Cambodia.
DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES TO BE CARRIED OUT
The consultant will work remotely, will be based in WHO Myanmar Office while travelling to Myanmar with travels to the fields as expected and responsible for the deliverables to support National Malaria Control Programme (NMCP) to accelerate malaria elimination in Myanmar.
