Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) The Pittem Board has several objectives in installing the new server environment. Taking into account the age of the current platforms and future needs, the board wishes to proceed with the purchase of a Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI), where compute, storage and networking are integrated into one software-defined solution. The HCI solution will be used for the virtualization of consolidated, residual or new installed virtual machines. The centralization and importance of IT for daily operations require that the necessary redundancy be built in to guarantee the uptime of the infrastructure. The central platform must also be sufficiently powerful (IOPS/Latency) to ensure smooth operating speed for all components. Multi-site setup The proposed HCI solution must contain a minimum of 3 nodes, which are distributed over 3 physical locations of the Pittem Administration. This for next Reasons: By geographically distributing the nodes, significant redundancy is achieved at building level (loss of one building has no impact on continuity).
