The subject of the public contract is the protection of the construction pit for the construction of the Faculty of Health Sciences facility with dimensions of approximately 98.15 m × 35.65 m. It is planned to base the building on a foundation slab inside the construction pit. Excavation of the foundation pit is planned until approximately 13.5 m deep, measured from the existing surface of the terrain. Given the specific geological composition of the terrain and the location of the facility in a populated area, the classic excavation method is not feasible without adequate insurance. Upoštevajoč razmere na terenu in geomehanske conditions, a combination of protection with concrete piles and shotcrete using anchors was adopted as a solution.
