Straw sand for winter operation
Background In the main, Sogndal municipality is responsible for winter maintenance of municipal roads with associated pavements, footpaths and cycleways in addition to car parks managed by the municipality. In the center of Sogndal, the municipality does most of the plowing/strewing with its own crew and equipment. The supplier must be able to deliver loose sand to the municipality's stores for loose sand at Ulvahaugen 2 in Sogndal, Dalsvegen 11 in Leikanger, and the industrial field at Kaupanger. The municipality must also be able to come and collect the loose sand itself. Strøsand must be used by the municipality and by contractors who perform tasks for the municipality. The client needs a reliable supply of loose sand for winter operation in the season from October to April. Description of the assignment The assignment includes the delivery of loose sand in the form of crushed stone or rock mass for use in winter operations. The loose sand must be suitable for laying in winter and provide good friction, be easy to handle and have an even and predictable quality throughout the delivery period.
