The sale of the Biesboschhal will start! The Biesboschhal is a well -preserved example of the once thriving maritime industry in Dordrecht. Shipping has been of enormous importance for Dordrecht in its growth and power, from the Middle Ages to the present. Started with the construction of wooden ships on the Riedijkshaven and the Wantij, later the steel giants for sea shipping on the tail. The Biesboschhal is one of the few tangible remains that remind us of a glorious industrial past. Both the Stadswerven and the Biesboschhal are a recognizable cultural -historical area with an industrial character. The municipality of Dordrecht is looking for an entrepreneur, or consortium, who can transform the Biesboschhal into a Dordrechts recognition point. The municipality is planning to d.m.v.
