SALE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY W912GY-26-Q-001S TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Sierra Army Depot has Scrap Lead Acid Vehicle Batteries for Recycling to be sold and removed from the facility. Approximately 42, 000 lbs. (1 truckload) to be removed within 30 days of the contract effective date.
The batteries are made up of lead acid and weigh approximately 74 lbs. each. It is determined that approximately 32 batteries make a pallet, and the pallet weight is approximately 46 lbs. Each pallet, to include the batteries, will weigh approximately 2, 414 lbs.
Contractor shall be responsible for removal of the batteries 6 months after the initial removal, and the final weight 6 months thereafter regardless of the available weight. If no batteries are available for removal at either of the 6-month marks, there will be no cost to the contractor or the Government. Contractor shall agree to remove less than full truckloads, dependent on available weight to comply with California Code of Regulations for Hazardous Waste.
The contractor shall use a flat-bed type trailer/truck/van (an approved method of transportation) to safely and efficiently load the Batteries. SIAD does possess equipment and can assist in the loading of the Batteries. Depot employees only to operate Government owned equipment. Contractor is responsible for the securing of the load in the approved method of transportation. Transporter shall use either a manifest or a bill of lading which fulfills the requirements of Title 13 California Code of Regulations section 1161, to record the shipment of spent lead-acid storage batteries to a person who stores batteries or who uses, reuses, recycles or reclaims the batteries or their components.
