The project area of ​​the A12 loop (sub-area 1 - plot 1) is located in the Antwerp port area north of Antwerp on the right bank of the Scheldt at the Liberation Dock. The project zone is located in an entrance/exit complex of the A12 between Antwerp and Zandvliet at the intersection with R2. The drainage ditch crosses the zone centrally from north to south with a weir in the south and in the northern part the Kleine watergang joins the Drainage Canal. Both east and west of the Drainage Canal, there are two loops that are not completely closed. On the western side they are smaller than on the eastern side of the central moat. In the southeastern loop there is an electricity pylon that must of course be taken into account in the new design.
