Tender Details

From Interreg and Via Belgica, the municipality of Voerendaal will start a cross-border landscape project based on the Villa Voerendaal, "the most impressive villa in the Roman Netherlands." The history spans the Iron Age (fort), Roman period (monumental Roman villa complex from the 2nd 3rd century), late Roman period (fortified tower), and the Early Middle Ages (cemetery). The excavation is currently located under an agricultural field where cultivation is still taking place (and will remain so in the future). The excavation is called "unique in its completeness". The project is not limitedkt to this location. We want to make this unique piece of history visible to the (international) public in a unique/attractive way through this project.
