It is anticipated that national guidelines will improve the health care and experiences of women experiencing perimenopause and menopause (including early menopause and medically induced menopause) by providing evidence-based guidance to assist high-quality, safe and consistent care. Guidelines will provide support for all relevant health professionals in providing clear recommendations for the comprehensive management and treatment of patients experiencing perimenopause and menopause. Guidelines are to be targeted towards relevant health care professionals who support the management and treatment of perimenopause and menopause (including but not limited to general practitioners and nurse practitioners). Work will also include the dissemination and promotion of the guidelines; development of supplementary resources and tools to support health professionals in applying the guidelines; and information for health consumers.
