Description : The requested equipment is dual polarity Selected Ion Flow Tube Mass Spectrometer (SIFT-MS) for the trace-level measurements of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), air toxics, and pesticides/fumigants in disadvantaged communities in California. These measurements are greatly needed for ongoing health risk assessments for disadvantaged communities and impact modelling for the State Implementation Plan (SIP). This instrument is capable of sensitivities at the part per trillion (ppt) levels under its standard configuration, and levels as low as part per quadrillion are possible if integrated with a thermal desorption inlet unit. The equipment is capable of high temporal resolution measurements under both stationary or mobile applications.
