The System provides a visual barrier delineating the RESTRICTED AREA - KEEP OUT zone around the airport shoreline. The existing System is comprised of twenty-two (22) float collar buoys that each have a 2, 000-pound reinforced concrete anchor block with embedded 316L stainless steel chain, a 10-foot round sling connecting the buoy to the chain, and a Sealite SL-60 2-3 nautical-mile solar powered light. The float collar buoys are located 200 yards from the shoreline around the entire Airport spanning approximately five (5) miles. Since the System-s installation in 2004, maintenance inspections and repairs have been conducted on the anchoring hardware and buoy system.
