electrochemical cv (ecv) profiler is an instrument used in semiconductor industry and research laboratories for depth profiling of p and n-type doping in epitaxial multi-layer semiconductor structures, such as these used for fabricating semiconductor laser diodes and heterojunction bipolar transistors. unlike simple cv profiler, ecv profiler can reliably profile carrier concentration in epitaxial layers several microns thick.
