The Federal Office of the Environment (OFEV) is responsible for ensuring that the exploitation of natural resources such as soil, water, air, calm and forest is carried out in compliance with the rules of the Sustainable development. From January 1, 2022, wood from an illegal harvest as well as products made with this wood can no longer be put on the market in Switzerland. The wood industry and forest economy section controls Si Reasonable diligence obligations are respected in accordance with the OCBO. Controlled companies submit data and information to the OFEVE via the Detec Egovernment portal. The OFEV also receives from the Federal Customs and Border Safety Office (OFDF) information on imports of wood and wooden products.
