"Rfi-Info -Specialist Road Safety Engineering Support"
The Government of Jersey (GoJ) acting through the department of Infrastructure & Environment (The “Authority”) is seeking to procure Specialist Services covering strategic road safety, operational road safety / traffic engineering. This is for a period of one year with a one year optional extension.
The approval of the 2022 ‘Island Road Safety Review- recommendations and subsequent ‘Collision and Casualty Reduction Plan 2025 to 2034- (to achieve a 50% reduction in killed and seriously injured), has created a need within Government for specialist advice from a road safety professional in key specialist work areas. This includes:
? The application of the international ‘Safe System Approach to Road Safety-
? iRAP risk based route assessment technique and operational application
? Projects aligned within the GOJ ‘Collision and Casualty Reduction Plan-
? Road traffic collision database analysis and reporting (iMAAP)
In all areas there is a strong case for a significant on-Island presence. This is important for overall responsiveness if the Government is to meet it-s casualty reduction target. Experience of working in an Island jurisdiction including awareness of government, way of life, differences of process and legislation, along with a practical engineering knowledge of the Island's constrained road network and collision profile is of high importance.
