BACKGROUNDMinistry of Health and Medical Services in Kiribati developed the Kiribati Diseases Outbreak Manual in 2019, Edition 1.4. This was based on an earlier version from 2008. The content of this Outbreak Manual aligns with other key guideline documents used in Kiribati including; Kiribati Pandemic Preparedness Plan, MHMS Strategic Plan, Kiribati Therapeutic Drug Guidelines, WHO Integrated Management of Child Illness (IMCI), Kiribati Clinical Guidelines, TB Management Guidelines, and the Draft Quarantine Bill. There is a need to update this manual, to improve usability, including greater detail re reporting structure and roles and responsibilities of different levels of the health service and any updates to disease definitions and responses, aligned with WHO guidance. PURPOSE/SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE OF THE ACTIVITYThe purpose of this contract is to conduct a review on the framework for Kiribati Diseases Outbreak manual. This review will assist in identifying gaps and make amendments needed on this manual framework which will bring a new version of this manual in addressing issues and promote reporting of Outbreak Diseases in Kiribati.
