Established in 2014, the objective of theJapan Program is two-fold: to mainstream DRM in developing countries, and toconnect global and Japanese expertise in DRM with developing countries and intonational development planning and investment programs in World Bank membercountries, financed by the World Bank. The Japan Programis managed by the Tokyo DRM Hub and is an associated Trust Fund of the UmbrellaTrust Fund the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) of theWorld Bank. GFDRR was established in 2006 to mainstream Disaster RiskManagement into World Bank operations and into the development agenda of the WorldBank member countries.
