For sheep, it is also desired that the value used for nitrogen in manure be assessed. The work includes quality assurance of current methods for all animal species, assessment of new proposed methods, and recommendations for any updates. The emission calculations must reflect new knowledge from national research where it is considered relevant, as well as current guidelines from the 2019 Refinement to the 2006 IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories.
