The objective of this project is retrofit 66 kV Inter-tripping outdated inter-tripping equipment protection equipment in ETD 66kV Substations. Mentioned substations inter-tripping equipment are in service for more than 20 years and subjected for replacement. The normal life of a protection relay is from 15 to 20 years, following are some major justification points: ● More often to mal-operates ● Communications error and hardware failure ● Unavailability of spares and overpriced ● Aged, outdated and black-listed ● Poor performance This upgrade aims to enhance the safety, reliability, and performance of our electrical system.
