Overview:
This Advance Notice relates to the purchase of adult pre-sentence Restorative Justice (RJ) services for the Far North region (Kaitaia District Court).
The Ministry of Justice (the Ministry) is looking for a provider who has the capability, capacity and expertise to deliver RJ services on behalf of the Ministry.
RJ is a community-based response to crime that aims to hold offenders to account for their offending and, as far as possible, repair the harm they-ve caused to the victim and the community. RJ processes typically involve a facilitated face-to-face meeting (conference) between the victim and offender following a referral by the court, where the court has adjourned proceedings, after an offender has pleaded guilty and before the offender has been sentenced.
The Registration of Interest (ROI) will be published on the Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS) soon, and will be open by 1 April 2022.
