Expression of Interest are invited for Research on Potential Export Markets for High-Value Afghan Agricultural Products.
The IFC Afghan Export Competitiveness Project (AECP), in partnership with USAID, aims to contribute to increased access to export markets and foreign investments in two targeted value chains - dry fruits & nuts and fresh fruits & vegetables. The project will provide support to the Afghan government and exporters to access information on high-potential markets for selected products beyond the traditional neighboring markets by identifying additional markets with higher value addition opportunities.
IFC is commissioning a firm to carry out an in-depth study of top potential export markets, which will identify destination market information, such as market demand and potential, entry and certification requirements, cost structure, logistics, strategic partners, export market dynamics and strategies for market access and promotion.
The analysis should go beyond the current neighboring export markets for Afghan agri products (i.e. Pakistan and India) and focus on potential new/growth markets for Afghan products in the two agri value chains identified. The study should also provide strategic recommendations for market access and promotion.
