The City of Cleveland, Ohio Department of Public Works, is seeking Request for Quotes (RFQ) from qualified and experienced firms to provide a baseline work culture assessment and staff training in the follow areas:Conflict resolutionHealthy organizational cultureExecutive level leadership trainingThe selected vendor shall assess the Department of Public Works- work environment in relation to the three areas mentioned above and perform onsite training based on the result of the assessment for three distinct groups within the organization:Executive and middle level manager (Director, Assistant Director, Commissioners, Assistant/Deputy Commissioners, non-union Managers)Unionized field staff supervision (District Unit Leaders, Assistant Superintendents, Superintendents, Parking Supervisors, Parking Coordinators, Unit LeadersUnionized field StaffThe overall goal is having training that assists the Director with building a healthy and productive work culture at each layer of the organization. At each level, staff should be trained on how to resolve peer-to-peer conflict, supervisors should be trained on how to manage conflict with subordinates, and executive level management should be trained on creating and facilitating a healthy and productive work environment for their staff. Training should be specific to the public sector and to the organizations that oversee field crews that provide manual labor such as waste collection, street maintenance, landscaping, trades work, etc. Additionally, executive level staff should receive training on leadership skills and strategies for overseeing public service staff.
