The Legislative Drafting Office is part of the States Greffe. The office is headed by Lucy Marsh-Smith, Principal Legislative Drafter.The Department comprises a team of lawyers, aided by an administrative support, who specialise in the preparation of Laws for enactment by the States of Jersey and the Queen in Council, Regulations to be made by the States of Jersey and Orders to be made by Ministers. The department also prepares amendments to legislation on behalf of Ministers, Scrutiny Panels and individual States Members.In addition the Department seeks to ensure that the laws of Jersey as displayed on the Jersey Law website are available for access by everyone in a form that is as accurate and up to date as possible.In support of the delivery of these functions the Department is seeking to engage the services of a suitably experienced and qualified Legislation Service Consultant. The purpose, functions and required skills and experience sort are outlined in the ITT that will become available via email you will receive once you have completed this expression of interest
