Request for Information (RFI) - CCS as a service
Eidsiva Bioenergi AS is a wholly owned company in the Eidsiva Group and was established in 2007. The company operates, designs and builds wholly and partly owned bioenergy plants, mainly in Innlandet county. The company is currently Norway's third largest district heating producer and produces approximately 475 GWh per year. Eidsiva has set ambitious goals for sustainability and by 2030 will have 100% renewable district heating production, without the use of fossil oil and gas, as well as reduce its own emissions by 60%. As part of this work, carbon capture and storage (CCS) is being assessed at Eidsiva Bioenergi's waste incineration plant at the Trehørningen energy center outside Hamar. With this RFI, Eidsiva Bioenergi wishes to survey the market in order to identify players who can offer carbon capture and permanent storage of CO2 as a service (CCS as a service). The deadline for input is 30 September 2026. In this context, "CCS as a service" means a business model where the supplier assumes responsibility for establishing, financing and operating the carbon capture facility, as well as handling the transport and permanent storage of captured CO2 from Trehørningen energy centre.
