N0016424SNB77 - REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) - ENGINEERING SERVICES AND SUPPLIES FOR SUPPORT OF THE AEGIS AN/SPY RADAR SYSTEM, MK99 FIRE CONTROL SYSTEM (FCS), AN/SPS-49 RADAR SYSTEM, RADAR TRANSMITTER GROUPS, AND ANCILLARY RADAR SYSTEM EQUIPMENT- PSC J012 - NAICS 541330

The Government is issuing this RFI announcement as part of market research to seek information from companies mitigating the sole source basis cited below to procure engineering services and supplies for support of the AEGIS AN/SPY Radar System, MK99 Fire Control System, AN/SPS-49 Radar System, Radar Transmitter Groups, and ancillary radar equipment.

Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division located at Crane, IN intends to award a sole source Basic Order Agreement (BOA) and associated job orders to Raytheon Company; 1001 Boston Post Rd E, Marlborough, MA, 01752-3770. This effort is anticipated to be conducted on a sole source basis in accordance with statutory authority 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, one responsible source and no other supplies of services will satisfy agency requirements. The basis for restricted competition is due to substantial duplication of costs and unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency requirement through any other source.

All responsible sources may submit a capability statement which will be considered by the agency. However, a determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
