The city of Helsinki currently operates several separate tunnel control systems, and in addition, the number of tunnels operated in the future is possibly increasing. Currently, each system has a tunnel-specific control and management system. Each system requires its own maintenance, as well as system-specific lifecycle updates at regular intervals. For this reason, a preliminary study of the future picture for separate systems has been started. Planned procurement the aim is to produce a comprehensive, technically and economically justified report on the different options by which the current separate city tunnel control systems can be replaced by one centrally controlled control system.
