Synopsis : This Request For Information (The "Rfi") Is An Invitation By Sasktel To Prospective Suppliers To Submit Responses For The Purposes Of Gathering Information To Assist Sasktel In Determining Potential Future Purchasing Options And Requirements For An Ss7 Firewall, As Further Described Below (The "Deliverables"): An Ss7 Firewall Provides Protection Across The Full Range Of Signaling Threats Identified By The Gsma. It Monitors, Identifies, And Analyzes These Threats To Block Unauthorized Access To Critical Subscriber Information While Allowing Legitimate Traffic To Pass Unimpeded And With Minimal Delay. Firewall Policies Are Based On Gsma Recommendations And Are Also Customizable For An Operator's Specific Needs. Sasktel Is Looking To Protect Its Network And Customers With This Solution. Overview Through The Rfi, Gather Enough Information From The Responses From The Vendors To Create The Requirements For The Rfp. Through The Rfp, Procure And Implement Ss7 Firewalls In Our Lab And Production Networks. The Sasktel Network Has Links To Two Roaming Partners For 3G Services. These Links Are Used For Inbound And Outbound Roaming By Sasktel And Its Roaming Partners. The Network And Customers Are At Risk Of Attacks By Outside Networks Using Ss7 Messages Listed In The Gsma. These Messages Can Be Used To:Obtain Private Information And Location Of Subscribersdisrupt Voice, Sms And Data Services For Subscribersavoid Toll Chargesdeliver Spam Or Conduct Fishing Operationswhole Sms Fraud
