The Municipality of Chatham-Kent (“Chatham-Kent”) recently conducted a Housing Needs Assessment (HNA) and is interested in working with qualified partners to develop one or more affordable rental housing projects within the Chatham-Kent area (each a “Project” and collectively the “Projects”).
Chatham-Kent currently has two properties available for the Projects, namely 55 Croydon St., Chatham and 426 Lacroix St., Chatham, and is also open to considering the use of other properties, including other properties owned by Chatham-Kent or property currently owned by proponents or property proponents may be willing to acquire for the projects.
The purpose of this Request for Expression of Interest (RFEI) is to gauge market interest from private and nonprofit organizations (each a “Potential Partner”) in participation in the Projects, as well as to identify relevant factors Potential Partners may consider when deciding whether to participate in one or more of the Projects.
There will be no evaluation, ranking or selection of the information received from Potential Partners, and this RFEI will not be used to prequalify or screen any Potential Partners for a subsequent competitive procurement process that may be issued by Chatham-Kent, if any.
