The AC450 is a PLC system used to control all boilers, common processes such as fuel and district heating and district cooling at Aquarius in Eskilstuna. These PLC systems are now obsolete and ABB has changed their status to Classic in 2021 which means that within 10 years spare parts will end manufactured. There are currently 4 AC450 systems and 2 800m systems. In order to secure operations, the replacement must be started in 2026 where an AC450 system, called 16.3 which controls the district heating network, is replaced.
