Lithium-containing energy carriers are increasingly used within Defense due to their high energy density and long lifespan. The introduction and growing use of these energy carriers within all branches of the armed forces leads to an increase in safety risks for operational units, equipment and supporting processes. These storage and/or (dis)charging containers are used for the safe storage, charging and discharging of lithium batteries. Because this is short term needs to take place, the containers are hired and the order is awarded primarily on the basis of the shortest possible delivery time. With this tender, the Contracting Authority aims to provide safe and suitable storage and/or (un)loading facilities for lithium batteries, to manage these risks.
