The BLS operates a traction power control system with which the entire traction power network is monitored and controlled remotely. The BLS traction power network includes the 15 kV/16.7 Hz network for supplying the electric locomotives in rail traffic and the 16 kV/50 Hz network for the energy supply in the Lötschberg Base Tunnel (LBT).
