Software licenses are necessary since all UPV computers use the Adobe Acrobat program to generate and modify institutional PDF documents. As this need is shared with other national higher education institutions, the Confederation of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE) has been in charge of obtaining an agreement on the conditions of these licenses for all of its members, so said provision of the right of use by the UPV adheres to the conditions established between Adobe and the CRUE in the Enterprise Term License Agreement (ETLA). University professors have been using the applications that currently make up the Adobe Creative Cloud suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, etc.) in their teaching environment for many years as they are the market leaders. for the editing and compositing of images, video, films and effects, forming what is a de facto industry standard. Consequently, this application is very widely used in all university environments. Recently, Adobe (the company that owns the software in question) has signed an agreement with the CRUE, through which all Spanish universities can use these products, during the next 3 academic years, with prices significantly lower than market prices.
