East Lothian Council requires removal services to meet the following requirements:Removals service for East Lothian Council operational facilities (office, public buildingsand school removals).Removal and Storage service in East Lothian for domestic furniture and personalbelongings in relation to the Council-s property maintenance programme as well assituations relating to homelessness, abandonments, evictions, decants, ScottishWelfare Fund community care grants and adult social work.Carpet fitting services are required for domestic removals. For removals associatedwith the Council-s property maintenance programme the Service Provider deliverscarpets back to the Tenant the day before the furniture is returned. The carpet fitterfits the carpets on the day carpets are delivered back to the Tenant.In some circumstances the Council must comply with statutory requirements andtimescales regarding the removal and storage of personal possessions and theContractor must be able to comply with such. Storage must be secure and fit forpurpose and within a practical visiting distance to allow clients access to their propertyon request.Disposal of items with the aim of maximising recycling and re-use opportunities.
