Relevant substances for sediment monitoring of offshore petroleum operations The Norwegian Environment Agency is announcing a mission to identify and assess substances related to petroleum activities at sea which, as of today, are not included in current sediment monitoring in Norwegian shelf, but which should be considered included in future monitoring, either on a temporary (for example as screening) or permanent basis. The assignment is to be carried out as a literature and knowledge study and provide the Norwegian Environment Agency with a professional basis for assessment whether the current monitoring program should be further developed in terms of which chemical analysis parameters are included. Recommendations given in the report Investigation for the establishment of limit values, condition classes and risk assessment for sediment - petroleum activities to havs (8150-2025), prepared by NIVA in collaboration with Akvaplan NIVA in 2025 shall, among other things, be assessed.
